Please
wait for a site operator to respond. You
are now chatting with 'Dinesh'
<span style='color:blue'>Dinesh:

Thank you for using One.com 24/7 Interactive Online Support. My name is
Dinesh. How may I assist you?

you:
Hi
there. Is it true that I get absolutely unlimited transfer on the
webaccounts at b-one?

Dinesh:

One.com offers unlimited data movement (Traffic) for all our hosting packages
provided it does not violate our Terms of Business. It means you are
not allowed to use your webspace for file downloads, file sharing or
other activities explained in our Terms of Business.

you:

Serving websites is a form of file downloading. I mean, .html files are a file
which is downloaded to a browser. Could I not then serve 360gb/montly
or 3600gb/monthly or even 36000gb/monthly as long as it is .html-files
& websites which are viewed?

Dinesh:

Today we have customers who have more than 25 million hits and more than 1000
Gb traffic per month.

Dinesh:

However we do not offer the possibility for our customer to have their
download-site hosted with us. A download-site is a site, where each
single hit generates more than 1 MB of traffic.

you:

Are those 1000 Gb for all customers or one invidual customer? If I have a
website which serves static websites up to 999kb, that would be
alright?

Dinesh:

Individual customer

you:

Is that an invidual customer with a normal account such as the 2,6
euro?

Dinesh:

Yes- provided your website does not violate our Terms of business

you:

But stated that the phrase "unlimited" , isn't it false marketing to claim
that you can have unlimited transfer as long as you dont break terms of
business? I mean, unlimited means that theoreticly a site with 999kb
files could potentially use all of the available bandwidth. And that,
just for 2,6euro a month?

Dinesh:

Yes

Dinesh:

You can have unlimited traffic provided your website does not violates our
terms of business.

you:

Could you describe the methods on which I can serve 36000gb of content
through my website without violating your terms of business? If I sign
up I'd not like to violate such terms of business.

Dinesh:

Here it is. Read it and contact us again :

Dinesh:

https://www.one.com/static/terms/terms_en_US.pdf

you:

I'm sorry but my browser prevents me from opening a pop-up window.

Dinesh:

No problem - you can use the above url in a new window

you:

But granted I follow the terms of business, you would allow me to transfer
36000gb per month for only 2.6 euro?

Dinesh:

yes

you:

And you will not shut down my website if I follow the practises in the
terms of business you specified?

Dinesh:

Yes

you:

Alright, I will thank you for your help. Is this information you've told me
today public?

Dinesh:

What do you mean public?

you:

Am I welcome to show this chat-history to anyone who wishes know that you
do hold up to your promises?

Dinesh:

I would suggest that you first read the Terms of Business. It is
mentioned there in that the Traffic is unlimited but it should be
normal in nature and should not disrupt the activities of other domains
hosted on that server. REMEMBER that your domain will be hosted on a
shared server.

Dinesh:

Yes, you can show this chat history to any one for reference

you:

But you just told me that I could serve 36000gb of data as long as it's not
files over 999kb. For those reasons you told me you wouldn't shut down
my website.

Dinesh:

Thats the reason I told you to refer to our Terms of Business because It is
mentioned there in that if we found that your website is violating our
terms of business, we can close it down and charge you for the abnormal
traffic

you:

But then the traffic isnt unlimited?

Dinesh:

Let me use the word - Traffic unlimited with Fair Usage Policy

you:

Then why does it say unlimited in your advertisment campaign? You don't
mention anywhere else on your campaign or on your website that it's
"unlimited with restrictions".

Dinesh:

Farvel, og tak fordi du brugte One.com chatsupport. Hvis du i fremtiden har
spørgsmål til vores produkt er du velkommen til at
skrive igen eller
kigge i vores FAQ.

Dinesh:

Sorry

Dinesh:

We have our Terms of business linked to our website.

you:

http://www.one.com/en/
<- it doesn't show on this website.

Dinesh:

Also there is a section called - Before you Buy . Have
your read it ?

Dinesh:

https://www.one.com/en_US/info/pre-sales-faq

Dinesh:

Click on the Before you Buy icon

you:

Yes. I have read "before you buy"

you:

it says the same as you did, that you have 25million hits and more than
1000 gb traffic per month.

you:

It doesn't mention that the unlimited traffic is governed by terms of
business.

Dinesh:

Yes, thats right,

you:

Alright, but I take it then that your offer on the website is indeed limited.
But that I wont know how limited it will be until someone from One.com
shuts down the account and specifies the reason?

Dinesh:

You are sounding very confused. Every business is governed by the Terms of
Business. The subscriber has to read and access the terms of business
before he registered with us

you:

Terms of business should always be clearly specified with any offer made by
any business practise. In your case, I can't see this as clear as I
would have hoped.

you:

It's as if you say that "this car has unlimited milage" but then in a terms
of business you write "unless it breaks down"

Dinesh:

Have you read the Terms of business ?

Dinesh:

Read 1.1 in the Terms of Business

Dinesh:

Traffic is basically unlimited. However, traffic must be normal in nature and
not disrupt that of other customers. If a

Dinesh:

customer’s traffic disrupts that of others, One.com reserves the right to close
the customer’s web hotel without notice

Dinesh:

and/or make a separate charge for the traffic. One.com reserves the absolute
right to decide whether or not traffic is

Dinesh:

excessive. On closure of a web hotel, no refund will be made of any subscription
paid in advance.

Dinesh:

.

Dinesh:

We do not want any user to Abuse our services in the
name of 'Unlimited Traffic'

you:

Still, my point remains. That doesn't sound very "unlimited". If the whole
deal is governed by lots of limitations through your business
terms.

you:

At first you told me that I could host a website if I dont exceed 1mb, use
it for filesharing purposes, file download etc.

Dinesh:

Now that is upto you. If you want, you can interpret it in 1000 different
ways.

Dinesh:

yes- and I still say the same

you:

Wouldn't it be easier if you just wrote "unlimited as long as it doesnt affect
other customers" on the website rightaway?

you:

Then you would avoid confusion such as my own when it says
"unlimited"

Dinesh:

No, because its already mentioned in our Terms of business. It is not
possible to mention everything on the same place

you:

The document you refeer to "Terms of Business" isn't available at the place
where you say "unlimited".

you:

That would still count as false marketing, would it not?

Dinesh:

Come-on - Are you seeing the correct document

you:

https://www.one.com/en_US/ <- please have your fellow associates put the document publicly
available on this service specification website.

Dinesh:

It is not possible to have everything in the same place. Besides our
support is available 24 hours a day - 7 days a week and can be
consulted for any clarifications

you:

Alright then, I will thank you for your time.

Dinesh:

You are most welcome. I look forward to helping you in the future. Good Bye
and have a nice time !
