Den är inte gammal, den är knappt ett och ett halvt år. Den officiella förklaringen är dessutom att satelliten innehåller typ 50kg av ett bränsle som heter
hydrazine och kommer bli en pr-mardröm om nån tjock jänkare får rakt i plytet när han står och gottar sig med en pommes. Dessutom tror jag den är i såpass låg omloppsbana att den inte håller sig kvar om den får vara. Med tanke på att den väger X antal ton så är det tydligen inte heller aktuellt att den skulle brinna upp helt under återfärden till jorden.

You’re not looking at a 5 tonne chunk landing on your car, but if it impacts land, it’ll be scattered over several miles (possibly hundreds depending on where / when it breaks up in the atmosphere). How fast the stuff is going when it hits the earth depends on the density of the chunks falling and their trajectory.
As for hitting any particular area…it depends completely on the orbit of the satellite, as well as the terminal trajectory as it enters the atmosphere.
