Flera av oss fick säkert mail från Google AdWords idag om VAT. Har ingen vidare koll på vad det är så kan någon förklara och vad är det för positiva resp. negativa effekter med det. Antar att den även berör annonsering vi säljer?

Skickar med kopia av mailet från Adwords så ni som inte fått det förstår vad jag patar om.

Recently, an alert regarding upcoming Value Added Tax (VAT)
was placed in your Google AdWords account. This alert is
intended for all advertisers with European Union (EU)
billing addresses. We want to remind you that as an EU
advertiser, your account will be subject to VAT charges
beginning July 1, 2003.

In response to the emerging electronic business environment,
EU member states are modifying the rules for applying VAT
to certain digital services including Internet advertising.
When such services are used within the EU, they will be
subject to VAT. Therefore, all AdWords accounts with EU
billing addresses will be subject to VAT after the new rules
take effect.

Beginning in July, Google AdWords will make VAT-compliant
invoices available to you. If you do not have a VAT
registration number or do not submit your number to us by
June 30, 2003, your invoices will automatically reflect the
appropriate additional VAT charges. These charges will reflect
your EU member country rate as determined by your billing
address.

Please follow the steps below to enter your VAT status with
Google AdWords:

1. Log into your AdWords account at:
http://adwords.google.com/select/.
2. Select the appropriate VAT option at the top of the
page.
3. If applicable, enter your VAT registration number
in the VAT field.
4. Click 'Submit.'
