The recent devastation of the island of Niue by Cyclone Heta will have no impact on the operation or availability of .NU domain names on the Internet.

All technical and business operations of .NU domain are located in Boston in the US and in Stockholm in Sweden, with secure backup services located in Germany and other metropolitan areas of the US - not in Niue. Our only presence in Niue is to provide free Internet services to the people of Niue as a charitable activity.

.NU domain continues to operate normally during the crisis in Niue created by Cyclone Heta. At the same time, we are working with staff on the ground in Niue to try and get the local Internet services up and running as soon as possible.
