Dear advertiser,
As you may have noticed, HelpFirefox.com has been closed since Friday. We were asked to do this by the Mozilla Corporation until we have reached an agreement on how to proceed with this campaign site.
They don't disapprove with our fund raising campaign and goal; but there are some parts that we haven't cleared out before, which we need to discuss further. We are now focusing on finding a good solution, before we can continue.
They do understand that our intentions are good and we strongly believe that we will be able to re-open in the near future and reach our goal of raising $1.000.000 to fund the development of the Firefox web browser.
In the meantime we have made a full refund to all advertisers.
Our company (Loopia) will make a separate donation of $13.800 to the Mozilla Foundation. This is the amount of money that we managed to raise through selling pixel ads in less than 24 hours.
During that one day when HelpFirefox.com was online, the site became a huge success. The site and the advertisers received press coverage in media all over the world. Within its first 24 hours HelpFirefox.com received more than 15.000 visitors and the pixel ads got thousands of clicks.
The open-source community and the fans of Firefox proved that Alex Tew's idea (the guy behind MillionDollarHomePage.com) will work more than just one time.
As for now, we wish to thank all of our advertisers for the tremendous support and positive feedback. We would never have made it so far without you and we hope that we can continue our cooperation in the future.
Several people offered their assistance with the site and we will get back to them before the next launch. If you are interested in helping out with this campaign, always feel free to contact us about it. This is the basic and wonderful idea of open-source; to work together for a common goal.
All the best,
The crew of HelpFirefox.com (Sam, David and Jonathan)
