Nothing is free.
You will need a place to work and most certenly you will need some guidance. I have been helping peaople with master thesis work and leading even the best students takes a lot of time. All this time I put in to help/instruct/manage another person is a cost.
And frankly I do not think 3 months in long enough in order to earn the money that costs me on the work you do.
maybe if you did really simple things (like making coffee, copy papers etc) I would actually make a profit on you but if you are prepared to do that you are either not that good at all (since you are satisfied with real simple tasks) or you are so good that you could get paid to do the same thing. In the latetr case you are stupid not to ask for a salary.

Consider this a warning to you at this forum thinking about using "free work" - nothing is free. And you get what you pay for most of the time.
And to you looking for a short internship - be precise on what you can do expecially without any guidance and ask for a salary (even a small one). You must pretend you are so good you deserve a salary - not beg for a job.
I had to do an internship before and indeed a company has to pay attention to you... But there are many different ways to do this. I think I have at the moment enough experience due to my freelance work and part-time jobs to function in a normal team and learning by doing!

The (still minimal) cost of the company can be seen as an investment in a new co-worker. Because once the internship is over I should be abel to be a full member of the team without any additional training and so on... When you attract a whole new person he still needs to integrate and training while you pay them.

Bet when we get to the salary part... Well I'm absolutely not allowed to receive fees for this internship, only travel costs or other additional cost regarding the work may be payed by the company if the like to. So that is a little bit a reason why I mentioned it.

The length of the internship is not that short, in most european schools an internship is 12 weeks (3 months)... Except some special schools like HyperIsland (i Karlskruna) they do internships of 7 months, but this is a very specialized school.

So I'll mention again... My goal for this internship is to work in team from start to end to deliver a consumer-ready product. I can do both, programming and designing which can be seen as a great advantage in the new media sector.
