Hello to all of you

I just wanted to introduce myself here. I'm Martijn, 21 years old from the Netherlands.
I have a webhosting and design company over there with a partner, but since my girlfriend is living in Stockholm, I'm moving here. My swedish isn't the best yet, but it'll change.

I plan on starting a new webhosting and design company here, also launching several community website in the next few years.

Frankly I think there are alot of oppertunities here, compared with the netherlands.

Well, I hope to follow this forum for a while. Keep working on the new company here in Sweden. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

PS, Whats up with the prices for Colocating over here? Its so expensive compared with us.

Are you saying that Holland, you don't mind me calling your country Holland do you :) I've never understood why your country has 2 names Holland / Netherlands why is that?

Anyways are you saying that Holland has reached "critical mass" already in the IT business?

Well what I mean is, on each 10 people living in holland, there is 1 webhoster. Specially when vacation is comming, and kids do it as project in the summer, and end it after 2 months.

Prices for colocation in the netherlands start at 180 Kr, for a 1U case with 1 Mbit data traffic on a 100 mbit line.

Here most have 10 Mbit lines?

Welcome to Sweden! I dont know how may people I know that have moved here because they met a swedish girl, but it is lots.

If you want cheap colocation that works perfectly fine take a look at http://www.prq.se. I have two 1U servers there (one 10Mbit unmetered and one 100Mbit with a 160GB traffic limit, extra traffic is very cheap though) and pays 5760 SEK each year. If you need the traffic you wont find anything cheaper.

They are locate just outside stockholm so the logistics is easy as well.

Interesting. I dunno the webhost business in this country but I'm guessing it's a Tax thing we have in Sweden. You moved to the wrong country :)

But if you do get settled down with your business and all do tell us the difference in working conditions between Netherlands and Sweden. It's always fun to compare notes between 2 countries and see which has the most stupid Tax and bureaucracy.

I sure will. I'm planning on starting somewhere in January 2008. Had the first meeting with Swedbank today for a small loan.
