Need your ideas, guys...
 

Hi Everyone,

I am new here in Sweden and I am looking into working online here.

I have been reading wn.se ( recommended by a friend ) with the use of Google translate since my Swedish is not that good yet. Everyone here knows a lot of stuff, a lot of experts in your respective fields, so I believe this is the right place for me to ask my questions.

I am quite lost. Can anyone of you guys show me the way at least?

1. What possible jobs can I do online?
2. What skills do I need to get. I am willing to study so I can get the necessary skills for the jobs you will recommend.

Any idea is greatly appreciated.

Generally speaking, no one's going to tell you what's working for them, since outing only brings unwanted attention and competition. Making money online is an endless headache of testing what works, and unless you have a really good work ethic or a lot of money on your hands, I'd look elsewhere - unlike popular belief, making (good) money online is far from simple.

As TheCheesePolice said, there are highly no one here that's going to tell you what's working for them.. My suggestion is that you go and make yourself a cup of te and think really hard what YOU would like to do.

Don't think of what would bring the most money, if there already is something familiar, or if you think something would be to hard to go through with. Think of what you really, really want to do, and do the research afterwords.

Perhaps, if you come back with some questions about you need to learn, do, etc. to accomplish, you'll get more answers!

What do you like to work with online? It's sounds like you are starting from scratch so my suggestion is to try different fields online in order to find something you really enjoy working with.

For you it might be programming, designing or SEO.

I am sorry if I brought out some confusion. I do not believe I will be a competition though. For one, I am not running websites ( as I assume a lot of you guys here are). And I am sure, for the other service providers here ( programmers,designers,writers) I am sure with your expertise, you have acquired more than enough clients and projects on your table.

My goal is to work for people like you :-) I guess I did not phrase my question properly before. For you guys here, what skills do you want to hire?


Back in my home country, I have worked online for 5 years. I have met entrepreneurs,website owners, programmers,designers and writers so I have ideas that achieving success online, like any other profession, takes time to achieve THAT success.

I am not in a hurry really to earn big money or get rich. But of course, I have to honest, I need to start somewhere. And because I have worked online already, I would like to continue with that.

My work before entailed:

1. writing original articles for English websites. I did quite a few translations from Swedish to English. ( with the help of Google translate and then I had to edit a big part of it still )

2. posting these articles on various websites ( Joomla,Drupal and Wordpress)

3. project management: writing scope documents,finding the right software ( template,modules,components), the proper service provider and then monitoring the progress until completion.

4. other virtual assistance tasks.


I am thinking of continuing with this kind of work but of course I have to tailor my services to the Swedish clients this time.

I am continuously studying Swedish. I also am wondering what other skills or services you guys here might need from someone like me.
I know I have so much to learn. There is also so much work online.

That is why I am asking as you guys here are experts online and again, the client I have on mind are people like you here.


Aside from achieving expertise in my skills, what other skills do I need to learn.. @ Legendarisk , I will think more on what you advised.

I'm pretty sure many here would pay for high quality manual link building, on handpicked swedish sites, using swedish comments of course.

When it comes to copy writing you already have plenty of international competition, for example are you willing to write 400 word articles for 5$?

För vanliga artiklar funkar $5/400 ord, men om du vill ha copywriting (dvs text som ska sälja) får du skräp för det priset.

Och du tror att pepparkaka kan skriva bra copy utan att behärska språket väl? Eller vad är din poäng?

I am not only interested in writing articles. And if ever, I will write, it will be, for sure in English as I am not yet proficient in Swedish... ( will get there in time, though ) Also, I am not interested in competing with Indians and Filipinos or other low cost English speaking countries.

What I am looking into is to learn something ( I cannot emphasize that more :-) )
that would be or is in demand here in Sweden. Say.... running Google adword campaigns, deeper Google analytics skills, SEO tools and the like..

What other recommendations do you guys have.
